HomeMy WebLinkAbout13144I RESOLUTION NO. 13,144 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO 4 CONTRACTS WITH SIX ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE YOUTH 5 SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAMS IN LITTLE ROCK 6 NEIGHBORHOODS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, intervention, and youth 9 development programs and services to enhance public safety and community- building, and 10 WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 0230 to solicit proposals for Little Rock Summer 11 Recreation Programs for Little Rock youth, and 12 WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted on May 14, 2010, 13 determined the lowest responsible and responsive bidders, and recommends the organizations listed 14 below for contract awards. 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 16 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. Contracts for Summer Recreation programs are hereby awarded to the following 18 organizations: 19 20 1. Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs — Thrasher $14,948 21 2. Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs — Whetstone $14,781 22 3. Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs — Penick $14,991 23 4. Little Rock Boys /girls Clubs — Mitchell $14,779 24 5. In His Image $14,000 25 6. Word of Outreach $15,000 26 7. Our House $12,570 27 8. Centers for Youth and Families $14,588 28 9. Pfeifer Camp — Male $12,495 29 10. Pfeifer Camp — Female $12,495 30 Total $140,647 31 32 Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts with these organizations providing 33 summer recreation programs and services, upon approval of the contract by the City Attorney. Funds for these programs are from FUTURE -Little Rock tax revenue specified for prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account number S 15T726. Section 4. The term of the contract is from June 7, 2010 to July 30, 2010. Section 5. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of this resolution. Section 6. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
