Clinton Foundation ( "the Foundation ") to rent the park and to build the William J. Clin- lo ton Presidential Library; and, 11 WHEREAS, pursuant to Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 11,134 (October 2, 2001), the 12 City authorized a lease agreement with the Foundation, formally executed on March 1, 2002, 13 which included, among other provisions, a requirement that the Rock Island Bridge, formerly 14 known as the Choctaw Bridge, be renovated; and, 15 WHEREAS, this renovation is about to being, and it is appropriate to rename the bridge the 16 Clinton Park Presidential Bridge; and, 17 WHEREAS, after an historical analysis it has been determined that to rename the bridge in 18 this manner would not diminish the historic nature of the bridge, 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 20 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The bridge adjacent to the William J. Clinton Presidential Park, commonly re- 22 ferred to as the Rock Island Bridge, is hereby official designated the Clinton Presidential Park 23 Bridge. 24 Section 2. In the event that there are other necessary steps required to assure that this new 25 name is properly identified pursuant to local, state, or federal regulations, the City Manager, the 26 City Attorney, and the City Clerk, are hereby delegated the authority to take such actions as nec- 27 essary on behalf of the City. 28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 29 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 30 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall [PAGE 1 OF 2] Resolution to name the Clinton Presidential Park Bridge I remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitu- 2 tional were not originally a part of the resolution. 3 Section 4. Repealer.
