HomeMy WebLinkAbout13124I RESOLUTION NO. 13,124 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH WASTE MANAGEMENT OF 5 ARKANSAS TO PROVIDE FOR CURBSIDE RECYCLING FOR SOLID 6 WASTE CUSTOMERS UNDER AN AGREEMENT WITH PULASKI 7 COUNTY REGIONAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT; AND 8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock entered into an agreement with the Pulaski County 11 Regional Solid Waste Management District (PSRWMD) beginning on May 6, 2003, for a period 12 of seven (7) years, to contract with Waste Management of Arkansas to provide curbside 13 recycling for all solid waste customers, and 14 WHEREAS, the parties mutually desire to extent contract and maintain service thru 15 September 30, 2011; 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 17 OFTHE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 18 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into an 19 extension of existing curbside recycling contract thru September 30, 2011, with Waste 20 Management of Arkansas to provide curbside recycling for approximately 57,000 solid waste 21 customers, at a cost of $2.20 per rnonth per residential customer. 22 Section 2. Funds for this extension are allocated in the Solid Waste Collections Account 23 #603110- 63391. 24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 25 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 26 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall 27 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 28 unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. 29 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are 30 inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such 31 inconsistency.
