HomeMy WebLinkAbout13116I 2 RESOLUTION NO. 13,116 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH H. JAMES ENGSTROM & 5 ASSOCIATES, INC., TO PROVIDE STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING 6 SERVICES FOR VARIOUS CITY PROJECTS; AND FOR OTHER 7 PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the City has occasion to require specialized professional services for structural 10 investigation and design engineering services; and 11 WHEREAS, on, December 1, 2009, the City issued a Request for Qualifications ( "RFQ ") for annual 12 Engineering Services for On -Call Structural Investigation and Design Services (Bid No. C09028), with an 13 option to automatically renew for two (2) additional terms of one (1) -year each; and 14 WHEREAS, H. James Engstrom & Associates, Inc., was selected from the qualified firms who 15 submitted proposals; 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 17 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 18 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with H. James Engstrom 19 & Associates, Inc. to provide structural investigation and design engineering services for various City 20 projects on an as- needed basis for various improvement projects within the City. 21 Section 2. The term of this agreement shall be for one (1) year, with an option to automatically 22 renew for two (2) additional terms of one (1) year each. 23 Section 3. Funding for these services will be available from accounts established for the various 24 projects. The total contract price to be paid by the City to the Engineer pursuant to this agreement 25 shall not exceed fifty thousand dollars ($50,000:00). 26 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 30 resolution. 31 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with 32 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 33 Section 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
