3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE COLLECTION
4 OF DELINQUENT COURT FINES AND COSTS TO THE FIRM OF
5 LINEBARGER GOGGAN BLAIR & SAMPSON, LLP; TO AUTHORIZE
6 THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE FIRM;
7 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the City issued a request for qualification for legal services to collect
10 delinquent court fines and costs; and
11 WHEREAS, Linebarger, Goggan, Blair and Sampson, LLP was deemed the most qualified
12 firm to perform the services; and
13 WHEREAS, a contract has been negotiated with the firm for a fee of 25% of monies
14 collected.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
16 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1: A contract is hereby awarded to the firm of Linebarger Goggan Blair &
18 Sampson, LLP, for collection services for the collection of delinquent court fines and costs.
19 The City Manager is hereby authorized to sign the contract negotiated by the City Attorney's
20 office, which is attached hereto.
21 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
22 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
23 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall
24 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
25 unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution.
26 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are
27 inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such
28 inconsistency.
