AN ORDINANCE TO DISPENSE WITH THE REQUIREMENT C
COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER T
ENTER INTO A CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED NINET`.
TWO THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($292,950.00), WIT
FLEET SAFETY EQUIPMENT, INC., AS THE SOLE SOURCE PROVIDE]
FOR THE PURCHASE OF THIRTY -FIVE (35) NEW POLICE MOBILE DAT
COMPUTER AND DIGITAL VIDEO SYSTEMS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSE;
WHEREAS, the Police Department has upgraded the data radio systems with high -speed
data components to enhance Patrol in -car capabilities, including wireless digital communication.
WHEREAS, competitive bidding should be waived and the contract awarded to Fl
Equipment, Inc., as the sole source provider for the purchase of thirty -five (35) new comput e
with modern digital video and computer technology for the new Patrol units to be purchased th
they are compatible with current data storage, wireless mobile digital communication
technology.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF TI
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board of Directors fmds that competitive bidding should be dispensed w
purchase of thirty -five (35) new Police Mobile Data Computer and Digital Video Systems.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to dispense with competitive bidding an
into a contract with Fleet Safety Equipment, Inc., for the purchase of the thirty -five (35) Poli<
Data Computer and Digital Video Systems, in the amount of Two Hundred Ninety -two Thous,
Hundred Fifty Dollars ($292,950.00), including all applicable taxes.
Section 3. Funds for this purchase are available from the Police Equipment Special Projei
210529- SOOB312.
Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 1
word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such deck
adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full
effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a p
ordinance.
Section 5. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in con
