ORDINANCE NO. 45=
An Ordinance Modifying, .Amending, and Readjusting the
Electric and Power Rates in the City of Little Rock.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, That
`— WHEREAS, all of the physical properties and
electric light and service franchises of the Little
Rock Railway. and Electric Company have passed by
deed, transfer and assignment, to the Arkansas
Central Power Company, and from it, to the Arkansas
Power & Light Company, which is now the owner and
holder thereof ; and
WHEREAS, this council and the said Power
Company have found and determined after hearing that
the present electric rates be modified, amended and
readjusted;
. NOW $ THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City
Council of the City of Little Rock, that certain
Arkansas Power &- Light Company electric service
rates shall be amended to read as follows:

Rate Schedule RL-2F
RESIDENTIAL LIGHTING -- -CLASS F
APPLICATION OF SCHEDULE:
This schedule is applicable for electrical service in Residences, Individual Apart-
ments or Flats for lighting and for other domestic uses, including Refrigeration,
measured through one meter when served from the transmission system. Motors
or appliances, the individual rated capacity of which does not exceed one KW, will
also be served under this schedule.
Hotels, restaurants and recognized boarding or rooming houses will not be served
under this schedule.
RATE:
Combination Flat and Meter.
Bills are to be computed and rendered monthly on the fol-
lowing basis:
Monthly Flat Rate:
First four rooms or less -50c
Rooms in excess of four -10c each, and
Monthly Meter Rate:
7c per KWH for first 6 KWH per room;
5c per KWH for next 6 KWH per room.
3c per KWH for all additional energy used
during the month.
PAYMENT:
The above rate is net and payable within ten (10) days from the date of the
bill. If a bill is not paid within ten days from the date thereof, the Company shall
have the right to disconnect the Consumer's service.
ROOMS:
All rooms shall be counted except hallways (not including hallways used as liv-
ing rooms), alcoves, closets, pantries, lavatories, bathrooms, unfinished attics and
basements, trunk rooms, front and rear porches, and unenclosed sleeping porches.
Garages shall not be counted, except when used in part for living quarters, in which
case rooms therein will be counted the same as in the residence.
No bill will be based on less than four (4) rooms.

COMMERCIAL LIGHTING -- -CLASS F
APPLICATION OF SCHEDULE:
This schedule is applicable for electrical service for General Commercial Lighting measur-
ed through one meter, when served from the transmission system. Ceiling fans will also be
served under this schedule.
Consumer may, upon written notification to the Company, attach to his service motors, the
individual rated capacity of which does not exceed one (1) H. P. or other electrical devices,
the individual rated capacity of which is not in excess of one (1) K. W.; and upon written
permission of the Company, may connect motors or other electrical energy consuming devices
of greater capacity.
RATE:
Combination Flat and Meter.
Bills are to be computed and rendered monthly on the
following monthly basis of charges:
Monthly Flat Rate:
For up to 500 watts of Contract Load the sum of 75c
For Contract Load in excess of 500 watts -10c
for each 100 watts of said excess, and
Monthly Meter Rate
7c per KWH for up to the firsts KWH per 500 watt
unit of maximum demand.
6c per KWH for next 500 KWH
4c per KWH for next 500 KWH
21/2c per KWH for all energy used in excess of above
amounts during the month.
PAYMENT:
The above stated rate is net and payable within ten (10) days from the date of the bill.
If a bill is not paid within ten days from the date thereof, the Company shall have the right
to disconnect the Consumer's service.
CONTRACT LOAD:
The Contract Load will be based on the sum of the manufacturer's ratings of the lamps,
motors`and other electrical devices connected, and for billing purposes, will be taken as the
nearest multiple of one -half (1/2) KW to the total connected load, but in no event will the
Contract Load so determined be taken at less than one -half (1/2) KW.
With installations having a connected load of 10 KW, or over, the Company may, at its
option, base the Contract Load on a measured demand. In this event the Contract Load will
be the average KW supplied during the f' ee minute period of maximum use during the
twelve months period ending with the billing month, but in no event will the Contract Load so
determined be taken at less than 10 KW.
CONTRACT PERIOD:
This schedule applies for service for a period of not less than one (1) year.
CHURCHES:
Energy will be supplied to schools and churches for lighting purposes only at a rate of
seven (7) cents net per KWH with a net minimum monthly bill of $1.50 per meter.

First: Provided, however, that during the first
twelve months after the effective date of this Ordinance,
if the former rate is the cheaper to any customer tham the
rate herein provided for, the company shall render its
monthly bill to such customer at the rate which shall be
cheaper to such customer.
Second: Provided, further, that immediately after the
expiration of the first twelve months period after the
effective date of this ordinance the company shall thereafter
give to each customer the rate which in the aggregate alt
t #e expiration of said first twelve months period is the
cheaper to the customer according to the said first twelve
months period.
Third: Provided, further, that on or before the first
day of July or the first day of January of each year, after
this Ordinance becomes effective, each customer shall have
the right to elect by notifying the company in writing which
of the two rates he shall select, and on making such selection
the same shall be put in effect by the company, as selected
by said customer as of the month of July or January following
such notice of such selection by said customer. Any customer
shall have the right to exercise such election *+a- on or before
the first day of January or July of each year thereafter.
The Company shall furnish on written request to any customer
a comparison of the two rates as applied to his consumption.

Fourth: The City Council reserves the right, at
the expiration of said twelve month's period (as
herein referred to) to, at any time, repeal this
Ordinance and place in effect the former rate.
The acceptance of this Ordinance by the Arkansas
Power & Light Company, at the bottom hereof, indicates
its approval of this and each of the other sectioas
herein contained.
The billings by the Arlo:nsas Power & Light Company
for services rendered hereunder, shall begin with the
month of [ -1.4c. , and this Ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
