AS ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THOMAS ADAMS FUEL COMPANY THE RIGHT TO
MAINTAIN A SPUR OR SWITCH TRACK DUE NORTH ACROSS WEST SEVENTEENTH
STREET BETWEEN JONES STREET AND THE ROCK ISLAND RIGHT OF WAY,FROM
THE END OF ITS PRESENT SPUR TO ITS LOTS NORTH OF WEST SEVENTEENTH
STREET FOR A PERIOD OF TEN YEARS,FI%ING THE ANNUAL RENTAL THEREFOR
AT $25.00 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TH! CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. That, for and in consideration of the payment
of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) per annum, payable annually inad-
vane, by the Thomas Adams
the said Thomas Adams Fuel Company, its successors or assigns, is
hereby granted the right to maintain for a period of Ten (10) years
a single sour track due north across West Seventeenth Street, between
Jones Street and the Rock Island right -of -way, from the end of its
present spur to its lots north of West Seventeenth, Little Rock,
Arkansas.
Section 2. That no cars shall be permitted to stand upon
the street, or sidewalks intersected by said switch, and said switch
shall in no way interfere with the traffic on said street and side -
wa - a;_that said Fuel Company shall build and maintain, free of
cost to the city or public, if the remaining part of said street
shall be paved or macadamized during the continuance of this grant,
a pavement of like character or material between the rails and two
feet on each outside thereof; that said switch shall be maintained
so that the top of the rails of same shall be on a level with
the grade of the street as it is now or may be hereafter estab-
lished, and shall be maintained so as not to interfere with
any waterway or flow of same, and the city shall have the right
10 er said grade at its pleasure; that said Fuel Company
shall hold the city harmless from damages of any kind occasioned
by maintaining said switch, or the use of the same.
Section 3. That said Thomas Adams Fuel Company shall,
within twenty (20) days after the passage of this ordinance signify
its acceptance-of the terms and provisions thereof by proper
certificate and endorsement on the record thereof. That all
rights herein granted shall cease and determine on and after

ten (10) years from the date of passage hereof, and at that time
said Fuel Company, its successors or assigns, shall remove said
switch at its or their own etpense.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in force and take
