AN ORDINANCE VACATING THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 126 OF THE
ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROLL,GRANTING THE SAYE TO THE UNITED
STATES GOVERNMENT FOR ITS USE AS A SITE FOR A POSTOFFICE AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSEa.
WHEREAS the United States Government has purchased all
of tke_prcperty situated in block 126 of the original city of
Little Rock, and
WHEREAS the spade now occupied by the alley bisecting
said block east and west, is needed by the United States
Government for the purpose of erecting a postoffice, and
WHEREAS said alley is no longer needed or necessary in
said block,
"OHERyFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. That the alley now bisecting, east and west,
block 126 of the original city of Little Rock be and the same
Is hereby granted to the United States of America for the purpose
a postoffice and Federal Building upon so mwh thereof
as may be deemed necessary or expedient and the said alley is,
for the purpose hereinbefore mentioned, hereby closed, heated
and abandoned.
Section 2. And it being necessary for the peace, health
and general welfare of the citizens of Little Rock,that construction
be started upon said building at the earliest possible date, an
.emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance shall be in force
and take effect from and after the date of its passage.
