AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE AMOUNT TO BE CHARGED WHERE PEFKITS ARE ISSUED FOR THE RUNNING OF RAILROAD TRACKS ACROSS STREETS,ALLEYS AND,OTHER PUBLIC PROPERTY AND FOR PERMITS ISSUED FOR EXCAVATIONS TO BE MADE UNDER SIDEWALKS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: Section 1. That from and after the passage of this ordinance any permits, grants or franchises issued to any person, firm or corporation for the purpose of permitting a railroad track to cross any street, alley, sidewalk or other publio property in the City of Little Rock shall be granted only upon the payment by such person, firm or corporation of a sum equal to One ($1.00) Dollar annually per running foot for the entire distance which said tracks shall run over said street, alley, sidewalk or other public property. That the top of rails laid shall be placed on a level with the pavement of said street and that said person, firm or corporation obtaining right to lay said.tracks over or along said streets or alleys shall pave between the tracks and two (2) feet on outside of same of like material with which said street or alley is paved. That the minimum amount to be charged in any such instance shall be Twenty Five ($25) Dollars annually. Section 2. That any permit, grant or franchise issued to any person, firm or corporation for the purpose of permanently excavati or building under the sidewalks of this City shall be paid for in a sum equal to One ($1.00) Dollar annually per running foot for the -full extent of such excavation or building. No such excavation shall 'extend beyond the property line to exceed S feet over -all. ` 'ect °ion 3. That no permit, grant or franchise to do ant of v= acts set forth in this ordinance shall be granted for a longer period than twenty (20) years from date of passage of the grant. Section 4. That all amounts herein set forth to be charged be payable annually in advance each year. 1 I Y Section 5. Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed to relieve the grantees from a full compliance with all rules, regu- lations and ordinances now in force or that may hereafter be passed relating to the construction work herein described and all such work shall be done under the supervision of the Superintendent of Public Works in the City of Little Rook. Section 6. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and all ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Passed; September 9, 1929.
