HomeMy WebLinkAbout4438iv ORDINANCE NO. 4438. CONSTRUCTION OF CURBS AND SIDEWALKS ALONG THE NORTH SIDE OF EAST THIRD STREET FROM SHERD STREET TO THE ROCK ISLAND STATI019 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Little R ock I Arkansas: Section 1. That the owner, or owners, respectively, of any property abutting on the north side of East Third street from Sherman street to the Rock Island Station, be and they are hereby required, to build within sixty(60) days from the passage of this ordinance, and to maintain a concrete curb and sidewalk where the same abuts upon the above street, between points mentioned, of the kind and materials, and in accordance with the rules and specifics tions heretofore or hereafter prescribed by resolution or ordinanc and subject to the approval of the City Engineer, or his duly ap- pointed agent. Section 2. That the curbs and sidewalks shall be built on the proper grade as established heretofore or hereafter bT ®iii Section 3. Upon failure or refusal of said owner, or owners,) of said property to comply with the provisions of this ordinance in reference to building, rebuilding, maintaining, or repairing of curbs and sidewalks in the manner and in the time specified herein, the Board of Public Affairs may contract with some suitable Of person, or persons, for the construction, or repair, of anjy said curbs and sidewalks in the manner set out in the Otdinance No.10031 passed on the 25th day of June, 1903; that said Ordinance Bo.1003 amended so as to include tierein the territory herbi* descrybed, and for that purpose all its provisions that are not i 11 conflict or inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby made and declared applicable to, the territory herein descri Section 4. In addition to the civil proceddings provided for herein, any owner, or owners, of property abutting on the specifie parts ofythe above named sttee'ts, "between the points named, who sh 11 fail, or refuse, to comply with the provisions of this ordinance within sixty(60) days from its passage, shall be deemed guilty of J i pg. 2 - Ordinance Mo. 4439. misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof in police court, shall be fined in the sum of $25.00, and each day that such failure or refusal is continued shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punished accordingly.
