AN ORDINANCE'GRANTING TO THE WM. N. YOUNG HOTEL
COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, THE RIOT TO EXCAVATE /d&`

NINE (79), CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND TO CONSTWO!
AND MAINTAIN IN SAID EXCAVATION SUBSTRUCTURES AND BASEMEN'
FOR A BUILDING TO BE ERECTED ON SAID LOT, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the;City
Little Rock, Arkansas:

SECTION I. The Wm. N. Young Hotel Company, the owner
of Lot Twelve (12) Block Seventy -nine (79), City of.Little Rock,
Arkansas, is now engaged in excavating said lot for the pur-
pose of erecting thereon a building: Now, the said Wm. N.
Young Hotel Company, its successors and assigns, are hereby
granted permission to excavate under the sidewalk on Main Street
a basement having a width of twelve feet (121) East from the
East property line of said lot and extending from the North
property line of said Lot Twelve (12) produced to the South
property line of said lot produced, and a basement under the
sidewalk on Markham Street having a width of ten feet (101)
South
from the
South property line of
said lot and extending
from
the West
line of said Lot Twelve
(12) produced to the
East
property
line of said Lot Twelve
(12), Block Seventy -nine
(79)'produced.
The right is also granted to the Wm. N. Young
Hotel
Company
to maintain therein the
substructures and base -
meat of said building for a period of ninety -nine (99) years
from the date of the eaeoution of the lease authorized by section
two (IL,) hereof.
SECTION II. The Board of Public Affairs of the

of Little Rocs is h,srebY thorized and instructed to enter in-
to and complete a lease for the use of the above— meutione8
space under said sidewalks by the Wm. N. Young Hotel Company,
its successors and assigns, for a Period of ninety -nine (99) years.

from the date of the passage and approval of this ordinance,
at the annual rental of One Dollar ($1.00)
In said lease shall be reseirved to the City of Little
Rock the right to grant to any public utility or public
utilities the right to use or employ during all or any part
of the term of said leased VAgh.'portion or portions of the
space hereinabove described as shall by the City be deemed
necessary or convenient in oaaueetion with the operation of
their business or the extension ar improvement of their-
properties.
SECTION III. All ordinances and�pawts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed 'only in so- far as
they affect this ordinance.
