It ORDINANCE NU. 406Z. WHEREAS, persons claiming to be a majority in value of the owners of real property within the territory hereinafter described, which property adjoins Street Improvement District No. 356 of Little Rock, Arkansas, a duly created and existing improvement district in said city, desire to be added to and included in said improvement district and have filed a petition with the city council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, pray- ing that said territory be annexed to said improvement district, have designated the nature of the improvement to be undertaken and have described the territory to be annexed, and WHEREAS, the city council has directed the city clerk to �ublish for two weeks in some newspaper issued and having general circulation in Pulaski County, a notice calling upon the property owners within said territory to appear before this council on this day and show cause for or against such annexation, and WHEREAS, such notice has been duly published and this is the time for the hearing to determine whether those signing said petition constitute the majority in value of the owners of real property in said territory, and WHERLAS, this council has heard all persons vL o desire to be heard upon the question of whether the signers of said- petition constitute such a majority; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. That this City Council has ascertained that th e signers of the petition to annex the property hereinafter described, to Street Improvement District No. 356 of the City . � v of Little Rock, Arkansas, do constitute-a majority in value of the owners of real property within the territory sought to be annexed; that said petition for the annexation of said territory is in due form and properly signed by a majority of the owners of real property as required by law. Section 2. That all the following described real property, to -wit: Lots 7 to 12, inclusive, of Block 3, and lots 1 to 6, inclusive, of Block 32 of the Original City of Little Rock, all in the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, be, and the same is, hereby added to and annexed to Street Improve- ment District No. 356 of Little Rock, and the commissioners of said district shall proceed to make the improvements petitioned for by draining and re- paving the follow ng street: Scott Street from a point 64 feet south of its intersection with the south line of East Second Street to its intersection with the north line of East Third Street, all to be done in such manner and with such materials as the commissioners of said district shall determine to be for the best interests of the territory hereby annexed. Section 3. That said territory hereby annexed stall be known as the Scott Street Annex to Street Improvement District No. 356 of Little Rock, Arkansas, Section 4. That the commissioners shall make the assess- meet of benefits for said improvements on the lots, blocks or parcels of real property in the territory herein annexed on the same basis as if said territory were included in the original district and shall file said assessments with the-City Clerk. Section 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby rdpealed and: this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, and the City Clerk is hereby ordered within twenty days after t' * Selo passage of this ordinance to publish the same in some newspaper published in the City of Little Rock for one insertion.
