HomeMy WebLinkAbout3956• 1 � , X - L ' ORDINANCE NO. 3956.. r, AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A CERTAIN PORTION OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO STREET IIZPROVMMNT DISTRICT NO. 426 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. WHEREAS, persons claiming to be a majority in value of the owners of real property within the territory hereinafter described, which property adjoins Street Improvement District No. 426 of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, a duly created and existing improvement district in said City, desire to be added to and included in said improvement district, and have filed a petition with the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, praying that said territory be annexed to said Improvement District and have designated the nature of the im- provement to be undertaken, and have described the territory to be annexed; and WHEREAS, The City Council has directed the City Clerk to publish for two weeks in some newspaper issued and having a general circulation in Pulaski County,, Arkansas, a notice calling upon the property owners within said territory to appear before this Council on this day and show clause for or against such annexation; and WHEREAS, such notice has been duly published and this is the time fixed in said notice for the hearing to determine whether those signing aaiA -'. petition constitute a majority in value of the owners of real property in said territory; and t WHEREAS, this Council has heard all persons who desire to be heard upon the question of whether the signers of said petition constitute a majority in value of the owners of real property within said territory sought to be annexed. NOON, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Little mock, Arkansas; Pg. 2 - Ord. No. 3956• Section 1. That this Council has ascertained that the signiors of the petitionko annex the property hereinafter described to Street Improvement District No. 426 of the City of Little Rack, Arkansas, constitute a majority in value of the owners of real property within the territory sought to be annexed., and that said petition for the annexation of said territory is in due form and properly signed by a majority of the oymers of real property as required by lave. Section 2. That lots- 1 to 6, inclusive, Block 4; lots a to 13, inclusive, Block 4; lots 14 to 19, inclusive, Block 3; lots 21 to 26, inclusive, Block 3; all in Chickasaw Place addition, in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas•, be, and all of said property is hereby added to and annexed to Street Improvement District No. 426 of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and is a part of said improvement district, and the commissioners of said district shall proceed to make the improvements petitioned for by doing all necessary grading, draining, curbing, guttering, and paving,'-in such manner and with such materials as the commissioners of' ­ Street Improvement district No. 426 s- -hall determine to be for the best interests of the territory hereby annexed to said Street Improvement district No. 426, on Allis Street from the north property line of 20th Street to the south property line of 18th Street. That said annexed territory shall be known as Annex loo. l to Street Improvement District loo. 426 of the City of Little. lock, Arkansas. Section 3. That the commissioners shall make the assessment of benefits for said improvement on the lots in the territory to be annexed on the same basis- as if said territory was included in the original district, and shall file said assessment with the City Clerk. Section 4. That all ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, and the City Clerk is hereby ordered within 20 days after the passage of this ordinance- to publish same in some newspaper published in the City of Little bock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, for one insertion.
