AN ORDINANCE TO THE SEVERAL ORDINANCES AGAINST VAGRANCY, GASSING, STRETT BEGGING, PR08TI TUT ION, DISTURBING THE PEACE, PICK - POCKETING, BOOT- LEGGING, TRANSPORTING INTOXICATING LIQUORS, BURGLARY AND LARCENY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. t Xhereas, the law now in force against vaggants, unlawful gaming, common street begging, common prostitution, habitual disturbers of the peace, pick- pockets, bootleggers, intoxicating liquor transporters, bazglsra, thieves, and suspiciousrVersons who can not give a xeaeo tb]: account of themselves, are fregr1itly evaded, totthe great injury of the City of Little Rock; For remedy thereof - -- A Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Little Rook: t 04 -That it shall and may be lawful and proper for any person following and persu i the ng practice of unlawful vagrancy, or gaming, or common street begging, or common prostitution, or habitual disturbers of the pease, er common pickpockets, or common boot�le$ger, or common trans- porter$ of intoxicating liquor, or common burglars, or common thieves, or Ubitaal criminals and suspicious persons Who can not give a reasonable account of themselves, to be prosecuted by information filed by the city attorney, or upon presentment, as a common vagrant, a common gambler, a common street bagger, a common prostitute, a common disturber of the peace, a common pickpocket, a common' loot logger, a common transporter.of intoxicating liquor, a common burglar, a common thief, or a common suspicions person who can not gite a reasonable account of himself, and, on conviction, such person so named shall be bound to keep the peace and be of good behavior, in a penalty in any __.9r more qualified sy so long as the judge or court shall prescribe, and on failare to give such bond, it shall be the duty of the court to commit each person so named to the city jail, there to remain for three months, or until he shall give each bond: and any person so bound, being after - vards guilty of anlawfal vagrancy, or gaming, or street begging, or prostitution, or disturbing the pesos, or pickpookiALing, or boot legging, or transport' of intoxicating ligaors, or barglary, or theft, daring the time for which he stands bound to keep the pesos and be of good behavior# shall forfeit the penalty of the bond, and the same may be recovered and applied as other penaltt ie s under bond forfeiture. Zx,s-, 2, ?hat this ordinance shall be constraed as an amendment to the several ordinances against vagrancy, gaming, streetnbegging, prostitution, disturbing the peace, piakpooketing, bootlegging, transporting intoxicating liquor, burglary and larceny, and not as repealing any each ordinances thereon as may now be in force.
