AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE BUILDING, WAINTEMCE
AND REPAIR OF SIDEIi1AM AFUTTIRG ON THE STREETS IN THE
ARRB BOUN DRD BY AND INCLUDIN XAFMX SIR= TO
FIFTEENTH AND FRCK' ROOK STREET TO UINES STREET, AND
FOR OTHLR PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED BY TIM CITY ;GOUNOIL OF THE CITY OF LITSE
ROCKS
SECTION 1. That the owner or owners, respectively, of any
property abutting an aW of the streets between Markhsas Street and
Fifteenth Street inclusive, and Rock Street and Gaines Street, inclusive,
of the City of Little Rock, having no concrete sidewalks, be and the *'.
are hereby required to build, within 90 days from the passage of this
ordinance, and to maintain a concrete sidewalk along such property
abutting on the above named streets.
SECTION 2. That said sidewalk shall be built of concrete and
shall be properly laid, well built and carefully maintained in accordance
with the rulesand specifications heretofore or hereafter prescribed by
resolutions or ordinance, and subject to the approval of the Superintendent
of Public Works, or his duly authorized agent.
SECTION 3. That said sidewalk shall be laid on the proper grade
as established heretofore or hereafter by ordinance, and the width of
said sidewalks shall correspond with the width of other concrete - sidewslks

the width of sidewalk shall be designated by the Superintendent of Public
Works or his duly authorised agent, but shall not be less than five feet
wide.
SECTION. 4. That upon the failure or redasal of &my of said
owners of said property_to_pOp ► ly with the provisions of this ordinance in
reference to building, maigt;inisg or repairing of sidewalks in the manner
and time herein prescribed, the Board of Public Affairs may contract with
some suitable person for the construction or repair of said sidewalks in
the manner as set out in Ordinaaee #1003, passed Am 25, 1005; that said
Ordinanee 61003 is hereby so amended as to include therein the territory
herein described and for that purpose all of its provisions that are not

hereby made and declared applicable to the territory described herein.
SECTION 5. That in addition to the civil proceedings provided
for herein any owner of property abutting on the above streets, who. shall
fail or refuse to comply with the provisions of this ordinance shall be
deemed guilty of a misde®eanor and, upon conviction in Municipal Court
shall be fined in the sum of V, -5.00; and each day that such failure or
refusal is continued shall cotgetitute a separate offense and shall be
punished by a fine of fi v..e, dollars per day such offense is continued.
SECTION 6. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
