HomeMy WebLinkAbout13044I RESOLUTION NO. 13,044 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND THE 4 EXISTING LEASE FOR OFFICE SPACE FOR THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE 5 DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 7 WHEREAS, the City originally entered into a lease agreement in 1990 for additional office space for 8 use by the Little Rock Police Department ( "LRPD "), and 9 WHEREAS, the lease agreement has been extended by addendum from the execution of the original 10 lease until July, 2009, and 11 WHEREAS, the term of the addendum is for a period of three (3) years, and 12 WHEREAS, the lease must be renewed for the continued use of this office space; 13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 14 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 15 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute an addendum to the lease agreement, in a form 16 acceptable to the City Attorney, for the continued use of the additional office space. 17 Section 2. Any such agreement shall include the following terms and conditions: 18 (a) The agreement shall be for a period of three (3) years commencing upon the execution of the 19 addendum by both parties; 20 (b) Beginning August 1, 2010, the monthly rent shall increase by an amount equal to 2.75% per. 21 month; 22 (c) Beginning August 1, 2011, the monthly rent shall increase by an amount equal to 2.75% per 23 month; 24 (d) The Landlord shall continue paying all operating expenses including utilities; 25 (e) The City shall provide janitorial services for the leased premise; 26 (f) All remaining terms of the lease shall remain in full force and effect. 27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 31 resolution. 32 Section 4. Repealer.
