3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO RENEW THE
4 CONTRACT WITH TRAVELERS INSURANCE COMPANY FOR CITY
5 PROPERTY INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR AN ADDITIONAL YEAR; AND
6 FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock owns a significant number of buildings from which City operations are
9 conducted, and
10 WHEREAS, the City purchases insurance coverage to insure against loss and damage to City -owned
11 buildings, facilities and other properties, and
12 WHEREAS, the incumbent provider of the coverage for City -owned buildings, facilities and other properties
13 has proposed renewal of the coverage with no increase in premium rates.
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
15 LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to renew the property insurance coverage provided by Travelers
17 Insurance Company for City -owned buildings for the 12 -month period effective October 1, 2009.
18 Section 2. Funds for the cost of the coverage are included as a line item in the 2009 City budget.
19 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
20 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which
21 shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, was not
22 originally a part of the resolution.
23 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the
24 provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
