HomeMy WebLinkAbout13029I RESOLUTION NO. 13,029 2 3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE 4 CONTRACTS FOR THE PROVISION OF HOMELESS AND HOUSING 5 SERVICES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 7 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock was awarded funds in the amount of $682,197 under the 8 Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing ( "HPRP ") grant program to be used for the provision of 9 homeless and housing services, and 10 WHEREAS, consistent with the City's Citizen Participation Plan, a public hearing was held and the 11 Consolidated Planning Committee recommended the use of the funds, and 12 WHEREAS, a Request for Proposal ( "RFP ") to procure up to three (3) providers to provide services 13 to assist persons who would otherwise become homeless and to provide assistance to rapidly re -house 14 persons who become homeless was issued to determine the best and most efficient manner in which to 15 utilize the HPRP funds, and 16 WHEREAS, Our House, Inc., River City Ministries and the Salvation Army responded to the RFP, 17 and 18 WHEREAS, a review committee scored all submissions and determined that the three entities 19 identified above met the stated qualifications to be service providers. 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into negotiations with 23 Our House, Inc., River City Ministries and the Salvation Army for the provision of homeless and housing 24 services as provided for under the HPRP grant program and consistent with the award of funds to the City 25 under the grant program. 26 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 30 resolution. 31 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent 32 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
