'tX'YtSOLUTION TO ACCEPT TITLE TO PROPERTY DONATED TO THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK BY QUITCLAIM DEED, TO BE USED FOR
NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION PROGRAMS; AND FOR OTHER PUR-
POSES.

8 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has stated as one of its goals a desire to provide for neighbor-
9 hood revitalization, and has taken special efforts to accomplish this goal through its use of various City
10 and federal funds, and in affirmative actions such as the creation of a Land Bank Commission; and,
11 WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this goal is it required that properties be obtained by the City in
12 areas that are appropriate for revitalization; and,
13 WHEREAS, during a recent auction of properties by the State Land Commissioner, the City was ap-
14 proached by a property owner who offered to donate a parcel of property that would fit within the goals
15 described above provided the City paid the delinquent taxes; and
16 WHEREAS, the City petitioned to redeem the property from the Land Commissioner, paid the delin-
17 quent taxes in the amount of $693.55 and received a quitclaim deed to the property attached as Exhibit A;
18 and,
19 WHEREAS, state law requires that the City accept the property by a resolution adopted by the Board
20 of Directors;
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
22 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
23 Section 1. Pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 14- 54- 302(c) (West 2004), the Board of Directors the
24 Board of Directors hereby approves the payment of the delinquent taxes required to redeem the property
25 and accepts the donation of the property as evidenced by the quitclaim deed attached to this resolution as
26 Exhibit A.
27 Section 2. The property shall be used for a public purpose, specifically for City neighborhood revi-
28 talization programs.
29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
33 ordinance.

Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same that are inconsistent with
the provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
