HomeMy WebLinkAbout130051 2 3 4 5 6 Cl UJ ,W .. 2009058167 Received: is 1:23:45 PM Recorded: 08124t' PM Filed & Recorded in Official Records of PAT O'BRIEN, PULASKI COUNTY CIRCUITICOUNTY CLERK RESOLUTION NO. 13,005 Fees ti GOIJNV A RE LUTION TO ACCEPT TITLE TO TEN PROPERTIES PUR- CHASED DURING A STATE LAND COMMISSIONER AUCTION, AND TO BE USED FOR NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION PROGRAMS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 s WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has stated as one of its goals a desire to provide for 9 neighborhood revitalization, and has taken special efforts to accomplish this goal through its use 10 of various City and federal funds, and in affirmative actions such as the creation of a Land Bank 11 Commission; and, 12 WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this goal is it required that properties be obtained by the 13 City in areas that are appropriate for revitalization; and, 14 WHEREAS, during a recent auction of properties by the State Land Commissioner, the City 15 was able to place successful bids on a number of properties, identified in Exhibit A to this Reso- 16 lution, which can be used to fulfill the City's stated goals; and, 17 WHEREAS, state law requires that the City accept these properties by a resolution adopted 18 by the Board of Directors; 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 20 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. Pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 14- 54- 302(c) (West 2004), the Board of Directors 22 authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute any documents necessary to complete the pur- 23 chase of the properties listed in Exhibit A to this resolution. 24 Section 2. These properties shall be used for a public purpose, specifically for City 25 neighborhood revitalization programs. 26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 27 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 28 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall 29 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 30 unconstitutional were not originally a part of the ordinance.
