HomeMy WebLinkAbout12978I RESOLUTION NO. 12,978 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO EXPRESS THE WILLINGNESS OF CITY OF LITTLE 4 ROCK TO UTILIZE FEDERAL -AID RECREATIONAL FUNDS FOR THE 5 ARKANSAS RIVER TRAIL; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 7 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas recognizes the need to provide public recreation 8 facilities for citizens and visitors, and 9 WHEREAS, the City understands Federal -aid Recreational Funds are available at 80% federal 10 participation and 20% local match to develop or improve Trailhead to Two Rivers Park, and 11 WHEREAS, the City understands that Federal -aid Funds are available for this project on a 12 reimbursable basis, requiring work to be accomplished and proof of payment prior to actual monetary 13 reimbursement, and 14 WHEREAS, the City understands that there will be no reimbursement for any work accomplished 15 prior to the issuance by the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department of an official Notice 16 to Proceed, and 17 WHEREAS, this project, using federal funding, will be open and available for use by the general 18 public and maintained by the applicant; 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 20 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The City of Little Rock will participate in accordance with its designated responsibility, 22 including maintenance of this project. 23 Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements 24 and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of the above stated project. 25 Section 3. The Little Rock Board of Directors pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the City 26 of Little Rock to cooperate with the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to initiate 27 action to implement this project. 28 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 32 resolution. 33 Section 5. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent 34 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
