3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
4 CONTRACT WITH INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES, INC.,
5 THROUGH THE ARKANSAS STATE CONTRACT, FOR THE PURCHASE OF
6 COMPUTER HARDWARE AND INSTALLATION SERVICES FOR THE
7 POLICE RECORDS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM UPGRADE; AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the Office of Information Technology has reviewed our current hardware and network
11 infrastructure and has recommended the purchase of specific pieces of computer components and
12 networking switches to meet the needs of the new Records Management System software for the Police
13 Department, to ensure full compatibility and disaster recovery capabilities, and
14 WHEREAS, the total cost for utilizing the State Contract for the purchase of the computer hardware
15 and the installation services for the upgrade of the Police Records Management System is Six Hundred
16 Forty-five Thousand dollars ($645,000.00), including taxes;
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
18 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
20 the International Business Machines, Inc., for the purchase of computer hardware and installation
21 services for the Police Records Management System upgrade for the Police Department, in the amount of
22 Six Hundred Forty -five Thousand dollars ($645,000.00), including taxes.
23 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available from the Recovery Act Edward Byrne
24 Justice Assistance Grant of 2009.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
31 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
