HomeMy WebLinkAbout12795I RESOLUTION NO. 12,795 2 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A 3 CONTRACT WITH ARKOMA PLAYGROUNDS Et SUPPLY TO SUPPLY AND INSTALL 4 A NEW PLAYGROUND COMPONENT SYSTEM FOR DUNBAR COMMUNITY 5 CENTER; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 WHEREAS, the Dunbar Community Center is one of the most popular and oldest community centers 7 in the City and the existing playground is outdated and in need of upgrading; and 8 WHEREAS, when the 2004 Bond issue provided for additions to the Dunbar Community Center and 9 the parking lot, the need for playground improvements was not addressed; and 10 WHEREAS, citizens in the community have expressed a desire for improvements to the playground; 11 and 12 WHEREAS, a bid was advertised through the U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance 13 and ARKOMA PLAYGROUNDS Et SUPPLY submitted the lowest responsible and responsive bid, in the 14 amount of Seventy -six Thousand, One Hundred Fifty -two and 37/100 Dollars ($76,152.37) to provide 15 and install a new playground component system at the Dunbar Community Center. 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE 17 ROCK, ARKANSAS: 18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with ARKOMA PLAYGROUNDS 19 Et SUPPLY, in the amount of Seventy -six Thousand, One Hundred Fifty -two and 37/100 Dollars 20 ($76,152.37). 21 Section 2. Funds for this agreement are available through the 2004 Bond issue. 22 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 23 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 24 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain 25 in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not 26 originally a part of the resolution. 27 Section 4. Repealer.
