RESOLUTION NO. 11,819
3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH WARD'S ASBESTOS
5 REMOVAL, INC. TO REMOVE ASBESTOS FROM THE FIRE
6 TRAINING BUILDING; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the voters of Little Rock approved a Seventy Million, Six Hundred
9 Thirty -five Thousand Dollar ($70,635,000) Limited Obligation Capital Improvement
10 Bond Issue (Series 2004) at an election held on November 4, 2003, and
11 WHEREAS, the ballot listed projects to be funded with proceeds of the bonds to
12 be issued included renovation of fire department buildings, and
13 WHEREAS, Invitation to Bid #4279 was issued for the removal of asbestos from
14 the Fire Training Building prior to its renovation and Ward's Asbestos Removal, Inc.
15 submitted the most responsive and responsible bid in the amount of Sixty -six
16 Thousand, Five Hundred Sixty Dollars ($66,560.00);
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter
20 into a contract with Ward's Asbestos Removal, Inc. for removal of asbestos from the
21 Fire Training Building in the amount of Sixty -six Thousand, Five Hundred Sixty
22 Dollars ($66,560.00);
23 Section 2. Funds for this project are to be allocated from the $70,635,000 Limited
24 Obligation Capital Improvement Bond Issue (Series 2004).
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
26 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or

1 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
2 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
3 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
4 resolution.
5 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
6 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
7 of such inconsistency.
