3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT TO JCI CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR
4 CONCRETE AND PAVING WORK FOR THE ELEPHANT EXHIBIT EXPANSION FOR
5 THE LITTLE ROCK ZOO IN THE AMOUNT OF $ 91,970.00; AUTHORIZING THE
6 CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SUCH SERVICES; AND FOR
7 OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the City issued a Request for Proposal No. 8244 for the provision of a concrete and
1 1 paving work for the Elephant Exhibit Expansion for the Little Rock Zoo, and
12 WHEREAS, JCI Construction, Inc. was the successful low bidder for the concrete and paving
13 work with a bid of $91,970.00, and
14 WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into a contract with JCI Construction, Inc. covering the
15 concrete and paving work so that the construction of the needed Elephant Exhibit Expansion can
16 proceed.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
18 ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby awards a contract to JCI Construction, Inc. in the
20 amount of $91,970.00 for concrete and paving work for the Elephant Exhibit Expansion. The Board
21 authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with JCI Construction, Inc., in a form acceptable
22 to the City Attorney, for the concrete and paving work for the above - stated amount.
23 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
24 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
25 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain
26 in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not
27 originally a part of the resolution.
28 Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with
29 this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
