HomeMy WebLinkAbout12,706I RESOLUTION NO. 12,706 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO 4 CONTRACTS WITH SIX ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE YOUTH SUMMER 5 RECREATION PROGRAMS IN LITTLE ROCK NEIGHBORHOODS; AND FOR 6 OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, intervention, and 9 youth development programs and services to enhance public safety and community - building, and 10 WHEREAS, the City advertised a format Bid No. 8217 to solicit proposals for Little Rock Summer 11 Recreation Programs for Little Rock youth, and 12 WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted on May 16, 2008, 13 determined the lowest responsible and responsive bidders, and recommends the organizations listed 14 below for contract awards. 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE 16 ROCK, ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. Contracts for Summer Recreation programs are hereby awarded to the 18 following organizations: 19 1. Girl Scouts of Ouachita Council $13,400.00 20 2. Centers- Kids of Character 18,225.00 21 3. Centers- Prevention Services 17,105.00 22 23 4. Pfeifer Camp (Males) 15,794.00 24 5. Pfeifer Camp (Females) 15,794.00 25 6. Our House 17,600.00 26 7. LR Boys /Girls - Mitchell 19,917.00 27 28 8. LR Boys /Girls - Thrasher 19,948.00 29 30 9. LR Boys /Girls - Whetstone 19,846.00 31 10. Promiseland- Promise Camp 15,940.00 32 11. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts with these organizations providing summer recreation programs and services, upon approval of the contract by the City Attorney. Section 3. Funds for these programs are from FUTURE - Little Rock tax revenue specified for prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account number SOOT458. Section 4. The term of the contract is from June 3, 2008 to July 25, 2008, and may be extended upon appropriation, satisfactory performance and mutual agreement of the parties. Section 5. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution. Section 6. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
