HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-10-93/l 1 The Board of Directors Room, Second Floor, City Hall, was being renovated to accommodate four additional City Directors. Therefore, the reconvened meeting was held in the Personnel Testing Room in City Hall after the Agenda Meeting. Personnel Testing Room City Hall - 230W West Wing Little Rock, Arkansas November 10, 1993 - 3:40 P.M. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, reconvened from the November 2, 1993 regular Board Meeting with Mayor Jim Dailey presiding. Robbie Hancock, City Clerk, called the roll with the following Directors present: Directors Priest, Roy, Sharp, Lewellen, Mason, and Adcock - total 6; Absent - None. With a quorum present, Mayor Dailey announced the purpose of the reconvened meeting was to go into Executive Session to consider appointments to various Boards and Commissions and to evaluate the performance of City Attorney Tom Carpenter. Whereupon, the Board of Directors recessed to Executive Session at 3:42 o'clock P.M. When the Board of Directors reconvened at 4:10 o'clock P.M. from Executive Session, Mayor Dailey presided and the following Directors were present: Directors Roy, Sharp, Lewellen, Mason, and Adcock - total 5; Absent - Director Priest - total 1. Resolution No. 9,038 was introduced, with the title being: A RESOLUTION MAKING APPOINTMENTS AND REAPPOINTMENTS TO THE ARKANSAS MUSEUM OF SCIENCE & HISTORY BOARD OF TRUSTEES, ARTS & HUMANITIES PROMOTION COMMISSION, AND CENTRAL ARKANSAS LIBRARY SYSTEMS BOARD; (Arts & Humanities - reappointed Carmen H. McHaney; Museum - reappointed Robert Cabe and Bonnie Fincher, and appointed Dianne Cowan, Carol Crosthwaite and Linus Raines; Library - reappointed Tom Dillard and appointed David R. Rickard.) and the Resolution was read in full. There was a motion by Director Roy, seconded by Director Mason, to adopt the Resolution and the Resolution was adopted unanimously by the` Board Members present. Mayor Dailey announced that the Board of Directors also evaluated the performance of City Attorney Tom Carpenter. Mayor Dailey stated that Mr. Carpenter had done a very fine job and the Board approved a salary increase from $72,500 to $80,000 annually. There was a motion by Director Lewellen, seconded by Director Mason, that the annual salary of City Attorney Tom Carpenter be increased from $72,500 to $80,000, effective January 1, 1994, and the motion was adopted unanimously by the Board Members present. Director Adcock noted that approval of Mr. Carpenter's salary increase is not in conflict with the salary freeze, since the evaluation began prior to the freeze. There being no further of Directors adjourned at regular session on Tuesday, P.M. in the Robinson Center, (across from City Hall).
