3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN
4 ANNUAL CONTRACT WITH CRUSE UNIFORM FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIRE
5 DEPARTMENT UNIFORMS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

7 WHEREAS, the LR Fire Department has been under contract with a rental vendor for the past five
8 years to supply Fire Department uniforms for department personnel at a cost of $125,000 per year, and
9 WHEREAS, the current rental contract will expire in June, 2008, and
10 WHEREAS, the Fire Department has determined that it will be more cost effective to stock and
11 distribute its own uniforms, and
12 WHEREAS, the initial start-up cost will be the same as the current rental cost per year, and it is
13 anticipated that in subsequent years the cost will be less than current rental rates;
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
15 ROCK, ARKANSAS:

Section1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into an annual
contract with Cruse Uniform for the purchase of Fire Department uniforms, in an amount not to exceed
One Hundred Twenty -five Thousand Dollars ($125,000.00).
Section 2. The contract will be renewable annually for four (4) years upon agreement of both
parties.
Section 3. Funds for this purchase are to be allocated from the Fire Department general budget.
Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain
in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
originally a part of the resolution.
Section 5. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
