3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND THE CURRENT
4 CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN SOLUTIONS FOR BUSINESS FOR THE PURCHASE
5 OF FIRE DEPARTMENT T- SHIRTS FOR DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL FOR ONE
6 YEAR; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the LR Fire Department currently has an annual contract with American Solutions for
9 Business, which will expire in June, 2008, and
10 WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding provides that T -shirts are to be supplied to all
11 firefighters on an annual basis and that they must be purchased before the expiration of the contract,

and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department has requested the approval of the extension of the current
contract for one year, for an estimated amount of Twenty -four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Sectionl. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to extend the current
contract with American Solutions for Business for an additional year from its expiration in June, 2008,
for an estimated amount of Twenty -four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00)
Section 2. Funds for this purchase are to be allocated from the Fire Department budget accounts.
Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain
in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
originally a part of the resolution.
Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
