HomeMy WebLinkAbout12666I RESOLUTION NO. 12,666 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE USE OF $59,074 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION 4 OF THE RIVER MARKET PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE STAIRWAYS; AND FOR OTHER 5 PURPOSES. 6 7 WHEREAS, the City has obtained a grant from the Economic Development Administration for the 8 construction of a new pedestrian bridge in the River Market Area (now completed), and 9 WHEREAS, construction of a new stairway linking the bridge to the new Game and Fish Commission 10 Nature Center and the River Market Promenade was put on hold pending construction of foundations 11 for the nature center, and 12 WHEREAS, after advertising for bidders, no bids were received, and 13 WHEREAS, the most efficient way to proceed with construction is to have the Game and Fish 14 Commission contractor, Flynco Construction, build the stairway; 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE 16 ROCK, ARKANSAS: 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to provide $59,074.00 to the Game and Fish Commission for the construction of the River Market Pedestrian Bridge Stairway. Section 2. Funding for the project is available from matching funds that were previously set up for the project. Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution. Section 4. Repeater. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. Section 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
