HomeMy WebLinkAbout12650I RESOLUTION NO. 12,650 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER, MAYOR AND CITY CLERK 4 TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS NEEDED TO CONVEY A RESIDENTIAL PARCEL OF 5 PROPERTY TO NATURAL ENVIRONMENTS, INC. FOR THE BUILDING OF AN 6 AFFORDABLE, HIGHLY ENERGY - EFFICIENT HOME; AND FOR OTHER 7 PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the City issued a Request for Proposals for the building of an affordable, energy - 10 efficient home on one or both of two parcels of vacant land owned by the City, and 11 WHEREAS, Natural Environments, inc. submitted the sole responsive and responsible bid, 12 providing a plan to design and build such a home while using the project to train, work and network 13 with the affordable housing building community, and 14 WHEREAS, the project will also demonstrate ways to drastically reduce energy usage through 15 innovative techniques, efficiency measures and solar systems, and 16 WHEREAS, the construction of the new home will enhance the surrounding neighborhood and 17 be in the best interests of the City as a whole. 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE 19 ROCK, ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The City Manager, Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute 21 documents as needed and in a form approved by the City Attorney, to convey to Natural Environments, 22 inc., one parcel of property as described in Attachment A for the construction by Natural 23 Environments, inc. of an affordable, highly energy- efficient home on the lot as proposed by Natural 24 Environments, inc. in its response to RFP No. 7243. 25 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 26 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 27 declaration or adjudication shalt not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain 28 in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not 29 originally a part of the resolution. 30 Section 3. Repealer.
