RESOLUTION NO. 12,563 —X
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH STANDARD LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY TO PROVIDE TERM LIFE
INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock provides term life insurance coverage to all regular full -time City
employees, and
WHEREAS, in response to a request for proposal for the term life insurance coverage, Standard Life
Insurance Company submitted a proposal to provide the current level of life insurance benefits to all
regular full -time City employees at the current rate and
WHEREAS, Standard Life Insurance Company further agreed to maintain the premium rate for a
two -year period, effective January 1, 2008.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Standard Life Insurance
Company to provide the current level of life insurance benefits to all regular full -time employees, for a
two -year period, effective January 1, 2008.
Section 2. Funds for the cost of the coverage are included as a line item in the 2008 City budget.
Section 3. Severabitity. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be
invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of
this resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged
invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution.
Section 4. Repeater. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
