RESOLUTION NO. 12,562
3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT TO BYLITES, INC.
4 FOR EVENT LIGHTING, STAGE, AND SOUND SERVICES FOR THE CENTRAL HIGH
5 SCHOOL INTEGRATION 50TH ANNIVERSARY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

7 WHEREAS, On February 6, 2007, the Board of Directors passed Ordinance No. 19,693 declaring
8 Event Lighting, Stage, and Sound Services as one -time professional services for the Central High School
9 integration 50th anniversary events, and
10 WHEREAS, pursuant to this Ordinance, the City issued Bid No. 7237 requesting proposals for event
11 site design and build out for events commemorating the 50th anniversary of the integration of Little
12 Rock Central High School, and
13 WHEREAS, the City and the National Park Service have entered into a cooperative agreement to,
14 among other things, commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1957 -1959 Central High School desegre-
15 gation crises, and
16 WHEREAS, Bylites, Inc. ( "Contractor ") submitted a proposal for event production services related
17 to the dedication of the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site Visitor Center and the
18 501h anniversary of the integration of Little Rock Central High School, and
19 WHEREAS, a committee appointed by the City Manager found the Consultant's proposal to be
20 qualified and in the best interests of the City, and
21 WHEREAS, the committee has selected the Contractor to be awarded a Professional Services
22 Agreement for event lighting, stage, and sound services for the Little Rock Central High School integra-
23 tion 50th anniversary events and the dedication of the Little Rock Central High School National Historic
24 Site Visitor Center, and
25 WHEREAS, the City and the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site Visitor Center will
26 each be responsible for the costs of said event lighting, stage, and sound services.
27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
28 ROCK, ARKANSAS:
29 Section 1. The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to enter into a Professional Services
30 Agreement with Bylites, Inc. for event lighting, stage, and sound services for the Little Rock Central
31 High School integration 50th anniversary events and the dedication of the Little Rock Central High
32 School National Historic Site Visitor Center in an amount not to exceed $130,241.50; provided, the Lit -
33 tle Rock Central High School National Historic Site Visitor Center will pay Contractor a total amount of
34 $48,797.50.
35 Section 2. This Professional Services Agreement may be executed by the City Manager and the
36 City Clerk once it has received approval as to legal form by the City Attorney.

Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such decla-
ration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in
full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not origi-
natly a part of the resolution.
Section 4. Repealer. All resolutions and other matters in conflict with this resolution are hereby
repealed to the extent of any consistency.
