3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE EIGHT (8)
4 MID -SIZE PURSUIT RATED POLICE VEHICLES FROM BALE CHEVROLET,
5 THROUGH THE 2007 STATE CONTRACT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

7 WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Police Department to replace eight (8) older mid -size pursuit
8 rated police vehicles with high mileage and maintenance expenses currently being operated by the
9 Department, and
10 WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is in its best interest to purchase the vehicles from
11 Bate Chevrolet through the Arkansas State Purchasing Contract SP -07 -0035;
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
13 ROCK, ARKANSAS:
14 Section 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Bale Chevrolet
15 for the purchase of eight (8) mid -size pursuit rated police vehicles, for the amount of One Hundred
16 Thirty -eight Thousand, Eight Hundred Thirty -seven and 44/100 Dollars ($138,837.44) pursuant to the
17 State Purchasing Contract.
18 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in the 2007 Short -term Financing Account
19 for the Little Rock Police Department.
20 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are
21 inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such
22 inconsistency.
23 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
24 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
25 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain

in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
originally a part of the resolution.
