RESOLUTION NO. 12,557
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN
ANNUAL CONTRACT WITH PROFESSIONAL PROTECTION SERVICES, INC. TO
PROVIDE SECURITY GUARD SERVICES TO PATROL PARKING AREAS AND
FACILITIES AT CITY HALL, PARKS AND RECREATION FACILITIES, AND THE
LITTLE ROCK ZOO; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Bid #C07016, Professional Protection Services, Inc. submitted the most
responsible and responsive bid for an annual contract to provide security guard services to patrol
parking areas and facilities at City Hall, Parks and Recreation facilities, and the Little Rock Zoo, said
bid being for services to be rendered at an hourly rate of Nine and 25/100 Dollars ($9.25), for an
estimated annual total of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), depending upon the amount of time
required, and
WHEREAS, the initial term of the contract will be one (1) year and may be extended for four
(4) additional one -year periods if mutually acceptable to the parties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into an annual
contract with Professional Protection Services, Inc. to provide security guard services to patrol parking
areas at City Hall, Parks and Recreation facilities, and the Little Rock Zoo, at the rate of Nine and
25/100 Dollars ($9.25) per hour, with an estimated annual total of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00),
with possible renewals of four (4) additional one -year periods, if mutually acceptable to the parties.
Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available from general fund line item budget accounts
from Parks and Recreation, Human Resources, and the Little Rock Zoo.
Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain
in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
originally a part of the resolution.
Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are
inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repeated to the extent of such
inconsistency.
