4 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TRANSFER
5 $202,000 FROM THE 1995 PARKS IMPROVEMENTS ACCOUNT TO THE
6 PARKS PLANNING AND IMPROVEMENTS ACCOUNT FOR
7 CONSTRUCTION OF THE JIMERSON CREEK BICYCLE AND
8
PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
9
10 PAY $108,231.90 TO THE ARKANSAS HIGHWAY AND
11 TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT (AHTD) FOR THE CITY'S 20%
12 MATCH OF ISTEA FUNDS.

14 WHEREAS, as a result of a citizen initiative revoking a vehicle bridge crossing at Jimerson
15
16 Creek and approval to construct a bicycle and pedestrian bridge in lieu of the vehicle brige, staff
17 applied for ISTEA funds to finance construction of the bridge; and
18 WHEREAS, two applications were successful in the amount of $519,000 worth of funds to
19 begin Phase I and II of planning and implementation of a bikeway system; and
20 WHEREAS, bids for Phase I were obtained according to state procedures and Jenson
21
Construction Company of Des Moine, Iowa, hs been identified as the low bidder in the amount of
22
23 $515,390; and
24 WHEREAS, the AHTD will allow incorporation of Phase II project funds to support Phase
25 1 development; therefore the City's 20% match plus AHTD's 1% administration costs of the
26 $515,390 bid is $108,231.90.
27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF

29 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
30 SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer $202,000 from the 1995
31 Parks Improvements Account to the Parks Planning and Improvements Account for construction of
32 the Jimerson Creek Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge.
33 SECTION 2. The City Manager is also authorised to pay $108,231.90 to the Arkansas
34 Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) for the City's 20% match of ISTEA funds.
