3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK.
4 REV. CODE § 2- 243(a)(2) (1988) TO ADD HISTORIC
5 PRESERVATION CONSULTANT TO THE LIST OF
6 PROFESSIONAL SERVICES; AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the MacArthur Park Historic District Commission has determined that
10 a thorough review of the district's design guidelines by a qualified historic preservation
11 consultant is an important prerequisite to periodic revision of the guidelines; and
12 WHEREAS, selection of an historic preservation consultant should be based on
13 qualifications and background in order to ensure that the guidelines are well - defined and
14 targeted to promote stability and encourage investment in the MacArthur Park Historic
15 District; and
16 WHEREAS, state law permits the City to declare that a particular service is a
17 professional service for which competitive selection can be based upon qualifications.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
19 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. Little Rock, Ark., Rev. Code § 2- 243(a)(2) (1988) is hereby amended to
21 add "historic preservation consultant" to the list of professional services.
22 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
23 clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
24 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of
25 this ordinance which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or
26 adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of this ordinance.

Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, or regulations, or any parts of such
documents, which are inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed
to the extent of such inconsistency.
