HomeMy WebLinkAbout18333• • 764 1 ORDINANCE NO. 18,333 2 AN ORDINANCE DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF 3 COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY 4 MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH 5 PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS FOR ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL SERVICES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 7 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock may dispense with the requirement of 8 competitive bidding in exceptional situations where such procedure is not feasible; and WHEREAS, the City finds that competitive bidding for Alternative School Services 9 is not feasible as the Pulaski County Alternative School on Roosevelt Road is the only 10 school that offers services to students who have been expelled from other schools for acts 11 of violence. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 12 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. 13 SECTION 1: The Board of Directors finds that competitive bidding should be 14 dispensed with for the purchase of alternative school services, as an exceptional situation exists and competitive bidding is impractical and infeasible. 15 SECTION 2: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract 16 extension with Pulaski Couty for Alternative School Services for $39,050 for the twelve 17 month term beginning September 1, 2000 and ending August 31, 2000 payable from Account # 210 - 035 -A445. 18 19 ADOPTED: 08 -15 -00 20 ATTEST: 21 lini 22 N CYt0 CITY CLERK 23 24 APPROVED AS TO FORM: 25 26 THOMAS M. CARPENT CITY ATTORNEY 27 29 APPROVED: JUWDAILEY ' MAYOR • • 76-0 ORDINANCE NO. 18,334 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 31 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, PROVIDING FOR A WAIVER OF MASTER STREET PLAN STREET IMPROVEMENTS FOR COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATES (Z-6629 -A) LOCATED EAST OF UNIVERSITY BETWEEN "B" AND "C" STREETS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. That Chapter 31 of the Code of ordinances be amended to provide for a waiver of certain requirements within the Subdivision Ordinance and Master Street Plan for the City of Little Rock for Commercial Development Associates locate east of University between `B" and "C" Streets. Subsection (a.) That Section 30 -276 requiring abutting streets be Constructed in accordance with master Street Plan be waived. Specific waiver is for `B" Street and portion of "C" Street to reduce Width of street from commercial standards to residential standards. Sidewalk will be required on all frontages. SECTION 2 This ORDINANCE shall take effect thirty (30) days from and after its passage.
