AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND LII'II'II'II.E ROCK, ARK,, ORDINANCE NO.
16,345, EXPANDING TIIIIE MEMBERSHIP OF THE SISTER CITIES
COMMISSION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the City passed Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 16,306 (November 17,
1992), establishing a Sister Cities Commission to fulfill the purposes stated in that ordinance;
and
WHEREAS, the City subsequently passed Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 16,345
(January 19, 1993), expanding the membership of the Sister Cities Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 16,306 is hereby amended to read as follows:
The Commission shall consist of fourteen (14) members who shall
be appointed by the Board of Directors upon the recommendation
of the City Manager. Members of the Commission may include
employees of the City and members of the Board of Directors. The
initial Commission will be chosen as follows: two (2) members for
a term of one (1) year, two (2) members for a term of two (2) years,
three (3) members for a term of three (3) years, three (3) members
for a term of four (4) years, and three (3) members for a term of five
(5) years. After the initial appointment, all appointments shall be
for a period of five (5) years, or until a successor is qualified,
provided no person shall be appointed for more than two (2)
consecutive full terms.
