HomeMy WebLinkAbout181951 ORDINANCE NO. 18,19 5 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO RENEW TAXICAB OPERATOR 4 PERMITS FOR CAPITOL CAB COMPANY, AND s DEWEY WORTHY, INDEPENDENT CAB, FOR A 6 PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FROM FEBRUARY 11 2000, 7 TO JANUARY 31, 2001; TO DECLARE AN 8 EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the Division of Fleet Services is in the process of renewing taxicab 11 operator permits, and 12 WHEREAS, Capitol Cab Company, and Dewey Worthy, an independent taxicab 13 operator, readily complied with all renewal procedures, and the applications are in 14 proper order, 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF 16 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, renews 18 the taxicab operator permits for the following operators for the one year period from 19 February 1, 2000, to January 31, 2001: 20 A. Capitol Cab Company -- 110 taxicab permits 21 B. Dewey Worthy -- 1 independent taxicab permit. 22 These taxicab operator permits shall expire at 12:00 midnight, Central Standard Time, 23 on January 31, 2001. 24 Section 2. Emergency Clause. The ability to assure visitors and residents of the 25 City that the taxicabs in which they ride are duly permitted and inspected and, otherwise 26 in compliance with the Transportation Code of the City, is essential to preserve the 27 public health, safety and welfare; an emergency is therefore declared to exist and this 28 ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after February 1, 2000, at 12:01 a.m., 29 Central Standard Time.
