HomeMy WebLinkAbout180931 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 0 ORDINANCE 18,093 596 AN ORDINANCE DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS FOR ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL SERVICES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock may dispense with the requirement of competitive bidding in exceptional situations where such procedure is not feasible; and WHEREAS, the City finds that competitive bidding for Alternative School Services is not feasible as the Pulaski County Alternative School on Roosevelt Rd. is the only school that offers services to students who have been expelled from other schools for acts of violence. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The Board of Directors finds that competitive bidding should be dispensed with for the purchase of alternative school services, as an exceptional situation exists and competitive bidding is impractical and infeasible. SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract extension with Pulaski County for Alternative School Services for $35,500 for the twelve month terni beginning September 1, 1999 and ending August 31, 2000.
