3 AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDS AND
4 AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
5 A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH MOTOROLA IN
6 THE AMOUNT OF $22,600 FOR Y2K UPGRADES TO
7 THE CITY'S RADIO SYSTEM.

9 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors may dispense with the requirement of
10 competitive bidding in exceptional situations where such procedure is impractical and
II unfeasible; and
12 WHEREAS, the Motorola products to upgrade are proprietary and therefore,
13 Motorola will be the sole source vendor to upgrade the equipment; and
14 WHEREAS, the upgrade is a 911 eligible expenditure with this being an all system

backbone upgrade.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors hereby finds that competitive bidding for the
City of Little Rock's radio system shall be dispensed with.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to waive competitive bidding and
declare Motorola as the sole source provider for the City of Little Rock's radio system.
SECTION 3. Funding for this project is available in account number 250- 214 -1445-
7050.
