CODE § 36- 203(g) (1988) TO EXTEND THE SUNSET 3 v PROVISION AN ADDITIONAL FIVE YEARS TO JULY 19, 2004, FOR PORTABLE SCHOOL CLASSROOMS IN THE LITTLE ROCK SCHOOL DISTRICT. WHEREAS, portable classroom trailers were declared to require a conditional use permit on the residential zoning of most public schools after passage of the current Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the school district found the conditional use process time consuming and inappropriate to deal with a large number of portables; and WHEREAS, an ordinance amendment was drafted making review a city staff responsibility with a five year sunset provision; and WHEREAS, the problem with movement and continued use is that the second five year period will expire prior to the coming school year. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Little Rock, Ark., Rev. Code § 36- 203(g) (1988) is hereby amended to read as follows: The Board of Directors hereby extends the sunset provision of the zoning ordinance an additional five years to July 19, 2004, for portable school classrooms in the Little Rock School District.
