ORDINANCE NO. 17,903
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH STEMSONITE, INC. IN
THE AMOUNT OF $15,785.23 FOR FACTORY
INSTALLATION OF A RIBBON INTRUSION SYSTEM FOR
THE THERMOPLASTIC MACHINE FOR THE PUBLIC
WORKS DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the factory installed modification is available only from the original equipment
manufacturer; and
WHEREAS, this Theremo - plastic machine is used for applying pavement markings on city
streets; and
WHEREAS, the increase in requests to mark older streets with faded lines necessitated the
need for this updated modification which was originally specified to apply markings only on newly
resurfaced streets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a sole source contract with
Stemsonite, Inc. in the amount of $15,785.23 for factory installation of a ribbon extrusion system
for the thermo- plastic machine for the Public Works Department.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to waive competitive bidding and
declare Stemsonite, Inc., as the sole source provider for factory installation of the ribbon
extrusion system for the thermo- plastic machine.
SECTION 3. Funding for this project is available in account number 200 -22- 2250 -4020.
