3 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
4 TO EXTEND CONTRACTS FOR GANG INTERVENTION
5 SERVICES.

7 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors adopted Resolution Number 10,130 to extend
8 contracts for gang intervention services, subject to appropriations; and
9 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Board of Directors adopted Ordinance Number 17,646, the
10 1998 Budget Ordinance, on December 16, 1997, to establish appropriations for these contracts
I l from prevention, intervention and treatment funds generated from the FUTURE -Little Rock tax
12 revenue.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
14 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

16 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to extend the following contracts for
17 gang intervention services:

20 1. Camp Aldersgate (1 male site) $35,000
21 2. Little Rock Housing Authority (2 male sites) $70,000
22 3. Black Community Developers (2 male sites) $70,000
23 4. Step Up Center (2 male sites) $70,000
24 5. Little Rock Boys Club (1 male site) $35,000
25 6. Watershed, Inc. (1 male site) $35,000
26 7. Step Up Center (1 female site) $35,000
27 8. Watershed, Inc. (1 female site) $35,000
28 9. Black Community Developers (1 female site) $35,000

30 Section 2. The City intends to award these contracts for a twelve -month period (January
31 1, 1998 to December 31, 1998), with possible renewal of contracts for one additional year in 1999
32 based on performance review and appropriations. Funding for 1999 is contingent upon
33 appropriations by the Board of Directors in the adoption of its 1999 budget.

34 Section 3. Funding for the 1998 contracts is from FUTURE -Little Rock tax revenue
35 specified for gang intervention programs of the Prevention, Intervention and Treatment Section of
36 the FUTURE -Little Rock programs listed in the 1998 City of Little Rock Budget Ordinance No.
37 17,646.
