AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $1,470,000 FROM THE
1998 REVENUE BOND FUND FOR RIGHT -OF -WAY
ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION OF TIP PROJECTS
FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City has previously committed by resolution of the Board of Directors to a
local match on the projects submitted (see Exhibit "A ") based on citizens requests and needed
maintenance, and
WHEREAS, if the City declines to continue funding the projects through completion, the City
will be responsible for 100% of all amounts previously expended.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to appropriate $1,470,000 for right -of -way
acquisition and construction of TIP projects for the Public Works Department.
SECTION 2. Funding is available from the 1998 Revenue Bond Fund.

AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FUNDS AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
AN ENGINEERING SERVICES CONTRACT WITH CARTER
& BURGESS, INC., FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION AND /OR
WIDENING OF UNIVERSITY AVENUE FROM WEST 12r"
STREET TO WEST 19r. STREET, A JOINT PROJECT WITH
THE ARKANSAS HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION
DEPARTMENT UTILIZING INTERMODAL SURFACE
TRANSPORTATION EFFICIENCY ACT ( ISTEA) MONIES.
WHEREAS, the City has previously committed by resolution of the Board of Directors to a
local match on the University Avenue Improvement Project based on citizens requests and needed
maintenance.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to transfer and appropriate the sum of $475,000
from the 1998 Revenue Bond Fund and enter into an engineering services contract with Carter &
Burgess, Inc., in the amount $154,513 (80% ISTEA - 20% City) for the reconstruction and/or
widening of University Avenue from West 12' Street to West 19" Street, a joint project with the
AHTD utilizing ISTEA monies.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
