AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $80,000 FROM THE
SOLID WASTE ENTERPRISE FUND FOR STATE AND SOLID
WASTE DISTRICT LANDFILL DISPOSAL FEES INCURRED
BY THE LITTLE ROCK HOUSING AUTHORITY
DEMOLITION PROJECTS AT HIGHLAND COURT AND
BOOKER HOMES.
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Housing Authority awarded bids for the demolition of Highland
Court and Booker Homes with the City to pay subject fees for landfill disposal at the Little Rock Class
IV landfill; and
WHEREAS, State and Solid Waste District Fees of over $50,000 have already been paid as
a cost overrun from the Solid Waste Division Budget and $30,000 more in fees are expected; and
WHEREAS, these fees are based on volume received regardless of whether the City charges
for disposal; and
WHEREAS, these fees are in excess of funds budgeted for normal operations in 1997.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to appropriate $80,000 from the Solid Waste
Enterprise Fund for State and Solid Waste disposal fees for Little Rock Housing Authority demolition
projects at Highland Court and Booker Homes.
