AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $294,375 FROM THE 1996
GENERAL FUND CARRYOVER ACCOUNT TO THE
SPECIAL PROJECTS FUND FOR THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF
JUSTICE (COPS MORE 96) AS MATCHING FUNDS TO
PURCHASE LAPTOP COMPUTERS FOR THE LITTLE ROCK
POLICE DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS, the Department of Justice's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services
(COPS) has approved the City's request for funding under the COPS MORE 96 program; and
WHEREAS, the request included $883,125 in federal funding coupled with a City match of
$294,375 for a total project of $1,177,500 to equip police vehicles with docked laptop computers that
possess MDT functionality.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to appropriate $294,375 from the 1996 General
Fund Carryover account to the Special Projects Fund for the U.S. Department of Justice (COPS
MORE 96) as matching finds to purchase laptop computers for the Little Rock Police Department.
