2 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $1,550, 000 FROM THE 1995
3 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BOND FUND FOR THE SOUTHWEST

COMMUNITY CENTER POOL; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY

MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH JIM WOOD

7 COMPANY, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,480,563 FOR
8 CONSTRUCTION OF THE SOUTHWEST COMMUNITY CENTER
9 SWIMMING POOL COMPLEX.

11 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock serves only 30% of the outdoor swimming pool demand according
12 to a recent study ; and
13 WHEREAS, the Southwest Pool Complex will address a portion of this demand; and
14 WHEREAS, construction of the pool will be Phase lI of three phases identified in the Park's Master
15 Plan for the Southwest Community Center which will consist of a pavilion, picnic area playground and a
16 basketball court.
17 NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY

OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

20 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to appropriate $1,550.000 from the 1995 Capital
21 Improvement Bond fund for the Southwest Community Center Pool and to enter into a contract with Jim Wood
22 Company, Inc. in the amount of $1,480,562 for construction of the Southwest Community Center swimming pool
23 complex.
